The 2019 Dilemma is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon from The Stillwell Vineyard on Rifle Range Rd and 40% Cabernet Franc from the Sommerville Vineyard on Malpas rd. This is the 1st Dilemma we’ve made since the 2014 vintage. These Bordeaux varieties have a long history in McLaren Vale, but have often been overshadowed by the popularity of Shiraz and more recently the resurgence of Grenache. But Cabernet in McLaren Vale is not to be slept on, and this wine is a good example of why not. Ripe and generous while maintaining elegance and varietal character, the 2019 Dilemma is an exercise in balance.
