From the Wait Vineyard in Blewitt Springs and the Smart Vineyard in Clarendon. 2020 gave us minuscule yields, due to a third consecutive drought winter, and multiple weather events during flowering and fruit set. The result was a mere 0.45t harvest from the Wait vineyard and 1.2t from the Smart vineyard, harvested on the 11th and 23rd of March respectively. Although the crops were tiny, the quality was very high and the results can be seen in the wine. Typical fruit concentration, balance and length associated with these vineyards and the subsequent wine. As always I just stay out of the way, and let these vineyards express themselves through the wine. Artwork by Adam Harriden – ‘Point Slider’.
